JR WPH NATIONWIDE BIG BALL 3WALL CHALLENGE
220 men’s, women’s and junior handball players entered the 2nd WPH-Outdoor Big Ball 3 Wall Nationwide Challenge, by JR WPH & EDTL Handball (Cup Stop #3) at La Mirada Park in Southern California, making Cup Stop #3 one of handball’s biggest events of the year.
Play kicked off on Friday afternoon with Ireland’s Aoife McCarthy and WPH WR48 #5 playing in her first ever 3-Wall big ball tournament match. McCarthy advanced past Long Beach’s Deana Mitchell in two games and will play top seed Tanisha Groomes on Saturday morning. “I really don’t have many expectations,” revealed McCarthy. “I’m just going to try my best and have a good time.” The rest of the women will also be in action in the round of eight on Saturday morning.
