JR WPH WRAPS UP SUMMER CAMP

TRC_Wrapup_Picture8/5/13, Tucson, AZ, Press- Junior WPH concluded its 10-week summer handball coaching spectacular with an awards ceremony, 500 new junior handball players, and hundreds of smiling faces! The Junior WPH Development Team of David Fink and Tracy Davis enthusiastically taught handball to 150 kids per week for five hours a day throughout the entire summer, as well as playing weekly world-class handball exhibitions for over 100 junior spectators. JR WPH HALF YEAR REVIEW

df7/31/13- Tucson, AZ, Press, Junior WPH reorganized in March of 2013 with a national mission to aggressively grow the sport of handball. In that same month, David Fink was hired by the World Players of Handball as the Youth and Donor Development Director to work alongside Executive Director, Dave Vincent, to launch a grass roots junior handball campaign to introduce thousands of new players to the game, as well as supporting existing junior handball programs and age division athletes.  Read more, HERE>

JR WPH WELCOMES CAMPERS AS COACHES

TRC_Assistant_Coaches_2WPH Press, 7/30/13- The WPH has introduced over 500 kids to handball over the past two months at the Tucson Racquet Club, and the response to handball has been sensational. The WPH Development Team of David Fink and Tracy Davis now receive handball coaching assistance from many of the older campers throughout the day. “A number of enthusiastic kids approach me each day to be assistant handball coaches,” claimed WPH Youth Donor and Development Director David Fink. “These kids are skipping basketball, swimming, and camp parties to teach the younger campers how to play handball. This demonstrates just how much these kids love the game. Kids that had never heard of handball three months ago are now teaching the game very well.”  Read more, HERE>

JR WPH PERFORMS SOCAL CLINIC AT VASQUEZ

jvJunior WPH organized a sensational junior handball clinic free to all kids playing in and attending the 10th annual Jr. Vasquez handball tournament in Southern California, this past weekend (July 13/14, 2013). WPH Coach Sal Duenas led a group of 50 junior handball players in the proper handball warm-up, the fundamentals of the most important shots in outdoor handball, drills and drill-based games to emphasize the fundamentals, and cross-training exercises for all of the youngsters to understand the importance of fitness in handball and in life.  Read more, HERE>

JR WPH EXHIBITION & CLINIC GATHERS SUPPORT

WPH_Session_2_Crowd7/10/13, WPH Press-  WPH 4th ranked pro David Fink and 17-year old Irish sensation Darren Doherty staged a thrilling handball exhibition for dozens of juniors handball players and fans at the Junior WPH Summer Program at the Tucson Racquet Club.  Kids between the ages of 7-14, as well as camp directors, counselors, and handball fans squeezed into the gallery of the Tucson Racquet Club exhibition court to watch their handball coach challenge one of the most promising talents from Ireland.  Read more, HERE>

JR WPH TRAVELS TO MINNESOTA

Mankato_Group_26/25/13, Minnesota Press, JR WPH-  “I think this camp was a fantastic opportunity for the junior players to learn from a pro and coaching staff. Most of these juniors had never had coaching,” exclaimed Mike Wells, head coach and director of the Minnesota State Handball Team in Mankato. “The best part of the camp really was meeting these kids and their willingness to be coached…I want everybody to come back next year.”  Read more, HERE>

JUNIOR PROGRAMS BOOM IN THE DESERT

JR WPH IN VENICE

Sam-Sal_36/12/13, Press-  Junior WPH staged another incredible junior clinic last weekend in Venice Beach. Following the well-publicized junior clinic for over 40 kids at the WPH 3-Wall Big Ball Nationals hosted by WPH Youth Donor and Development Director David Fink and number-one ranked 3-Wall big ball superstar Samzon Hernandez, WPH Coaches Samzon Hernandez and Sal Duenas ventured to Venice Beach last Saturday to teach “Marco’s Kids” the fundamentals and fun of the 3-Wall big ball game.  Read more, HERE>
